Asian Sweet Chili Wings
Everyone loves it! An easy recipe to pull together although it needs 2 hours to marinate. Similar to Grilled Cilantro Chicken but with less pepper. This recipe came from Bon Appetit 1997, but has been adapted.
- 2-3 lbs chicken drumsticks and/or wings
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3-6 tbsp cilantro stems, chopped fine
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3-4 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2+ tablespoons minced ginger
- 1 tsp coarse ground pepper (or more, to taste)
- 3/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
- Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce, or Sweet Chili Sauce from the store
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions for garnish
preparation
Mix oil, cilantro, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper in large bowl. Add chicken wings and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Using tongs, transfer chicken wings to large baking sheet. Bake until cooked through and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Transfer baked chicken wings to large bowl. Pour Sweet Chili Sauce glaze over; toss to coat. Return to oven for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions.
